NISH is seeking an Manager, Procurement Policy in its National Office. The chosen candidate will implement the NISH mission of creating employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities by providing assistance to Community Rehabilitation Programs through activities in government relations, public policy and grassroots advocacy. Responsible for Government Affairs activities related to Department of Defense, small business, veterans and procurement policy.
Looking for candidates to:
- Monitor and influence legislative, regulatory and other policy actions, with a focus on defense procurement and small business socio-economic program policy, as they affect the AbilityOne Program, NISH, Community Rehabilitation Programs and employment of people with disabilities.
- Pursue efforts to influence and initiate procurement policy, including legislation and regulations that enhance the mission and vision of NISH and the AbilityOne Program.
- Build and nurture relationships with key congressional committees and caucuses, including: Senate and House Armed Services, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, Small Business, and related appropriations Committees.
